GREM COLD WASH

It is an effective, highly concentrated, degreaser and emulsifier which penetrates quickly into the fuel tanks, forming a white emulsion that rinses with water and leaves the surfaces perfectly clean.

Kalon Mantenimiento Industrial, S.A. (Smyth-Morris) has received IMO approval for additives in tank cleaning, evaluated according to MEPC.1/CIRC.590 and according to the requirements regulated in 13.5.2 of annex II of Marpol 73/78. The product is duly published in MEPC.2/circ.22 (Annex 10).

  • High degreasing and cleaning capacity.
  • High emulsifying capacity, allowing subsequent rinsing, leaving surfaces free of oil residues.
  • oil residues.
  • High safety product, high flash point and no attack capacity on metallic surfaces.
  • It has a high dielectric coefficient, allowing its use in all types of electrical components without voltage.
  • Formulation free of chlorinated solvents and aromatic solvents harmful to the operator.

Application Areas

Naval industry:

- Cleaning of loading tanks for fuel and mineral oil, crude oil, heavy fuel oil, petroleum distillates,...

- Bilge degreasing and cleaning

- Engine room degreasing

- Cleaning of metallic surfaces, deck machinery, painted surfaces ...

Instructions for use

GREM COLD WASH can be sprayed on the tank surfaces to be cleaned. The contact time should be at least 30 minutes. Bulkheads or walls can be sprayed by tank washing machines or pressure washers. The best result is achieved with hot water between 60-80°C. Insistence should be made to dislodge the dirt from the tank and transfer it to a holding tank or pump it to onshore settling tanks.

GREM COLD WASH can be sprayed undiluted on dirty areas, leaving it to act for 15-30 minutes before rinsing with water.

Direct injection for tank cleaning machines.

Dilution should be between 0.1-0.2% (approx. 1-2 liters per ton of wash water).

Recirculation for tank cleaning machines

It is recommended to use a 0.1-0.2% solution. That is, 1-2 liters per ton of wash water is mixed into the tank to be cleaned.

Dilution and results will vary depending on the contamination, the temperature of the cleaning solution and the number of tanks being cleaned with the solution. Best results are obtained when the water is heated to a temperature between 65-80 °C.
